Medical Spas > Facials and Photofacials
Regular facials are deep cleansing treatments applied to the face to clean the pores and improve the condition and feel of the skin. Creams, masks, exfoliants, lotions, and massage are often included.
Photofacials use non-laser intense pulsed light to deliver energy through the skin's surface. IPL can blunt skin damage such a reddened complexions, irregular pigmentation, and large pores. Fine skin wrinkling may be lessened and redness associated with rosacea dramatically reduced.

Light energy is delivered through a handpiece in short pulses to a targeted area. Energy levels can be controlled and varied as needed. Multiple sessions are usually spaced at monthly intervals. IPL may also be used to treat acne.
Discomfort is all but nonexistent. The face may stay flushed after a photofacial for a short time but fading is quick. There is no period of downtime after intense pulsed light treatment, and regular activities can be resumed immediately.
