Skin Care > Eye Creams

An eye cream is a specialized moisturizer that is compounded for easier and more comfortable use on the eyelids and surrounding skin.

According to some cosmetic companies, components of regular skin moisturizers are too harsh to use on the thin skin of the eyelids and may burn if they work their way onto the lashes and into the tear film.

Many credible skin care experts, however, disagree and feel that most people don't really need a separate and typically more expensive formulation just for the eye area.

If you're now using a lightweight facial moisturizer around your eyes and having no problems, don't worry that you're missing out on anything special.
