Skin Care Products
Skin care products are by far the largest segment of the cosmetics industry. Backed by huge advertising budgets, successful companies can make almost unthinkable profits on concoctions that cost very little to formulate.
While competition is intense, name brands seem to be able to charge ten if not a hundred times more for similar products made by upstarts and get away with it.

The skin has three main layers: the thin outer epidermis that is continually shedding, the thicker dermis, and the much thicker subcutaneous fat deeper in. One big problem is that almost no over-the-counter creams, gels, or ointments ever penetrate any deeper than the epidermis, and so their effects, regardless of what some may claim, are limited.
There is no possible way that we can cover this market brand by brand or rate products that change formulation monthly. We'll leave it up to you to tell us what you know.
