Each time strangers or friends or lovers look each other in the eyes, they form instant opinions about beauty and personality and even deep basic traits like honesty and intelligence.

While the validity of such impressions can certainly be questioned, their importance cannot.

People do care about how their eyes look and whether they can see without squinting, sometimes almost as much as they care about how well they can see.
