Also known as breast implant, breast enlargement, or augmentation mammoplasty, breast augmentation is an operation to implant a prosthesis to enlarge the size of the breasts.s
The two main types of implants are filled with either saline or silicone gel. More recently, some surgeons have begun using injections of fat obtained by liposuction from other parts of the body to increase breast volume, a practice that remains controversial.

Why Do It?
The most common reason to undergo breast augmentation is cosmetic, addressing issues of volume, shape, or asymmetry. However, some breast implant surgery is reconstructive, such as when undertaken to replace tissue lost to cancer, trauma, or congenital problems or after complications resulting from prior breast augmentation.
Main variables in breast augmentation surgery include different types of incision, different levels of implant placement, and, of course, the different types of implants.
